Having founded the firm with Norman Lippitt and Douglas A. Hyman, Mr. Hyman's illustrious career, which spans over five decades, has earned him a reputation as one of the most prominent attorneys in Southeastern Michigan. Consequently, Mr. Hyman has counseled thousands of individuals and businesses regarding an abundance of diverse legal matters, including complex commercial litigation, business planning, employment litigation, estate planning, shareholder disputes, zoning, real estate and family law issues.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1944, Mr. Hyman obtained his Juris Doctor in 1947. While a student, Mr. Hyman also earned several prestigious awards, including the Henry M. Campbell Scholarship and the National Jurisprudence Award in Contracts. Following law school, Mr. Hyman extended his impressive scholastic career by accepting a position as judicial clerk to the Honorable Justice Bushnell in the Supreme Court of Michigan.
In addition to consistently maintaining a distinguished legal practice, Mr. Hyman has also served as a member of the Michigan Board of Law Examiners, the Board of Directors for the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and the Barrister's Society. Likewise, Mr. Hyman has maintained membership with the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association. Consequently, Mr. Hyman has earned a multitude of awards, honors and distinctions, including the Robert P. Hudson Award from the State Bar of Michigan. Finally, Mr. Hyman's diverse talents have earned him a position as the Building Commissioner for the State of Michigan.
